Brand new iPhones, no matter what their model is, come with a feature that makes them ring twice when a message is received. This works to remind you to check the message in case you didn't read it right away.
Many people find this annoying, though - myself included! And that's why I'm going to tell you how to make your iPhone stop ringing twice.

Disable Alerts Repetition

This method is also applied to iPad.
  • Step 1: Go to Settings.
  • Step 2: Tap on Notifications.
  • Step 3: Head to Messages.
  • Step 4: Scroll all the way down and tap Repeat Alerts.
  • Step 5: Choose Never.

And it's done! Your iPhone should now ring only once when a message is received.
